Get the app

Akordo for iPhone and iPad is in public beta through TestFlight, Apple's app for trying apps before they reach the App Store. The app is free, and it needs iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, install TestFlight from the App Store.
  2. On the same device, open the Akordo beta link and tap Accept, then Install.
  3. Open Akordo and tap Sign in or create account. Use the email you use on the web, and your songs, setlists, and groups are already there. New to Akordo? Create a free account in the same step.

Reading this on a computer? Open the iPhone & iPad page and scan its QR code with your iPhone or iPad camera to open the beta link there.

Updates and leaving the beta

TestFlight tells you when a new build is ready. Turn on Automatic Updates for Akordo in TestFlight to install new builds as they arrive. Each build expires after a while, so keep TestFlight installed to stay current.

To leave the beta, delete the app. Your library lives in your Akordo account, not on the device, so nothing is lost, and it is there when you install the App Store version.

What's in the app

The app has five tabs:

  • Stage opens your next scheduled set when you are in its lineup. Tap a song to start the set there.
  • Setlists shows each set in running order with its markers, song readiness, and People (the lineup and sharing).
  • Songs is your library. A song opens straight to its chart; the chips at the top change the arrangement and the key and capo, and show the metronome or backing track. Tap a chord in a scrolling chart for its chord overview: the notes on a keyboard, its role in the key, and the shapes to play it.
  • Practice holds Chords & scales, the Tuner, the Metronome, and Instruments.
  • More has your groups and invites, Stage settings, Help, Contact support, and your account.

Charts, arrangements, saved keys, notes, recordings, and setlists are the same ones you see on the web. A change on one device shows up on the others.

Play the set from iPad

Every chart works as a performance view: tap the chart to hide everything but the music, switch between Scroll and Pages with the layout button, and pinch to zoom. Pages lays the chart out like the printed page.

  • Page-turn pedals. Pair the pedal in the iOS Settings app like any Bluetooth keyboard, then assign it under More › Stage settings. The first time a pedal connects, Akordo offers to open that setup for you. "Next" turns the page and moves to the next song from the last page, so one pedal runs the whole set.
  • MIDI. Connect a controller over USB, Bluetooth, or the network and map its pads and pedals to stage actions. Going the other way, an arrangement can send a MIDI preset to your synth or amp when you open it, and the metronome can send MIDI clock.
  • Apple Pencil markup. Draw on the paged chart. Your marks are yours: they follow you to the web's Stage mode and PDF preview and print in an annotated PDF, but other people don't see them.
  • A second screen. Connect a TV or monitor with a cable or AirPlay, open Stage settings, and choose what the room sees under Second screen: the chart, lyrics only, what's next, a set timer, or a stage monitor.

The app's Help › Stage setup guide walks through pedals, MIDI, and second screens.

Take a set offline

Before you leave for a gig, open the setlist's More menu and choose Download…. Akordo keeps the charts, your notes and ink, and the recordings on the device so the set plays without a signal. The panel shows what is ready and when it was last checked. Removing a download only frees space on that device.

What stays on the web

A few jobs are easier on a bigger screen and are web-only for now:

  • Importing songs from files, ChordPro, or other apps. Imported songs appear in the app as soon as it syncs.
  • Moving existing songs and setlists into or out of a group, and making someone a group owner. See Groups.

Send feedback

This is a beta, and we want to hear what works and what doesn't. Take a screenshot in the app and TestFlight offers to send it to us with a note, or open More › Contact support to write to us. Replies appear in the same place.
